REACH compliance

1. Overview

The Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) Regulation (EC No. 1907/2006) is a European Union regulation adopted to improve the protection of human health and the environment from risks posed by chemicals, while enhancing the competitiveness of the EU chemicals industry.

Although Digital Discovery & Forensic Services (DDFS) is not a manufacturer or distributor of chemical substances, we recognize the importance of REACH compliance within our operational ecosystem.

2. Applicability to Our Services

DDFS provides digital forensic and eDiscovery services, which are primarily technology-driven and do not involve the manufacture, import, or intentional distribution of chemical substances.

However, REACH may indirectly apply to certain aspects of our operations, including:

  • • Electronic equipment and hardware used in forensic investigations
  • • Data center infrastructure and IT components
  • • Third-party vendor products and services

3. Commitment to Compliance

DDFS is committed to responsible business practices and ensures that:
  • • We work with suppliers and vendors who adhere to applicable environmental and chemical regulations, including REACH
  • • We do not knowingly procure products containing restricted substances above permissible limits
  • • We do not knowingly procure products containing restricted substances above permissible limits

4. Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC)

Under REACH, certain chemicals are classified as Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) due to their potential impact on human health or the environment.

DDFS does not intentionally use or distribute SVHCs in its service delivery. Where applicable, we rely on supplier declarations and documentation to ensure that any equipment or materials used comply with REACH thresholds.

5. Supplier & Vendor Responsibility

We expect our suppliers and partners to:
  • • Comply with REACH regulations and provide accurate documentation when required
  • • Notify us if supplied products contain SVHCs above regulated thresholds
  • • Maintain transparency in material composition and safety data

6. Environmental Responsibility

While our services are primarily digital, DDFS supports environmentally responsible practices by:

  • • Promoting the use of compliant and sustainable technology
  • • Minimizing waste associated with electronic equipment
  • • Encouraging responsible disposal and recycling of hardware
